Slowly, your army grows and takes the name Ironheade – “with an E on the end so that people know we’re fu**ing serious!” There are several videos floating around that show just how awesome this game is looking, demo is due on the 17th.Thus begins an epic story of human triumph over adversity and big metal demons, with you running and driving around the huge world killing things and saving everyone you can, usually winning them over to your side by introducing them to Heavy Metal. (Bonus points, one of their units that you get to kill looks like a steryotypical emo kid! :jam:) The 3rd army is Tainted Coil, a demonic army based on industrial metal. Then there's Creeping Doom, a faction of black metal/doom metal fans who look sorta.

There are 3 factions: Ironheade, the army you build during singleplayer, which is based generally on heavy/thrash metal.

You can also tear things up with your avatar, gliding around the battlefield on wings of night and shredding with your axes. An interesting aspect to this is that you can hop in and personally control any of your units. You capture these resource points by playing a guitar riff to make them loyal to you, and then build a merchandise booth to keep them loyal. The resources are what appear to be geysers of screaming souls actually, they're metal fans.

The multiplayer mode involves you setting up a rock show and competing against the other shows. The format? A very intiguing-looking mix between action and RTS! That's right, I said RTS. An important aspect of the game's developement was that the Double Fine team wanted to make a game with multiplayer, and so this game was built around the idea of multiplayer gameplay. Be warned, it is so full of awesome your brain might just explode. To add a little gasoline to the fire, here's a list of the game's soundtrack. I love the cartoony graphics and the potential for over-the-top awesome they bring. I haven't done a ton of research on gameplay and whatnot, but i have faith in the dev and the talent involved. Now if that isn't a personal sign from the Gods of Metal that this game will be ******* awesome, I don't know what is. Why is this relevant, you ask? Well, October 13th also happens to be the day I go to a Metallica concert, which is my absolute, hands-down favorite band. There's another reason I think this game will be great too, and it's not because I'm a JB fan (I am, just for the record.) The release date is October 13th. I must say I'm looking forward to this game. Personally I was at first a bit skeptical, but after doing a bit of research on this game and the people making it, what Gamespot had to say after checking out demos, etc. Now if you don't like metal, Xbox, and/or Jack Black this isn't the game (or thread) for you, but for those of us that aren't tainted by PS3 fanboyism, anti-headbanging sentiment, or irrational hatred of Jables, let us take this opportunity to discuss this possible masterpiece.

First off let me say I'm sorry if a thread about this game has been posted already, I searched for it but didn't find any threads about it.Īnyway, Brutal Legend is an Xbox 360 game by Double Fine Production about a roadie who is transported into another dimension, and fights with the power of Metaaaaal, \m/ (and now would be a good time to say there should be a new emoticon made with the code \m/ so us metalheads can properly show our appreciation of all that is awesome) and the main character is voiced by Jack Black.
